Camfil’s high-efficiency air cleaners of the new CamCleaner series help cut not only indoor area and air purification costs, but also heating costs, dust-related operational disruptions and absences due to illness. Thanks to the high cleaning efficiency of the pre-and main filters, even the smallest particles can be removed, thus optimising working conditions.
Unfiltered incoming air, diesel exhaust particulates, rubber and paper dust... High exposure to dust may end up costing a lot of money, especially in logistics centres. Impure air contaminates technical equipment in every production and warehouse space and also affects employees’ health. A tremendous cleaning effort is often needed to make sure daily operations go smoothly.
The patented technology of the CamCleaner series is based on exceptionally large, two-sided air intake surfaces. This increases, for example, the filtering efficiency of the 6000 model to the extent that about 95 per cent of all particles can be removed from the air in the initial air change. That is because even in the standard version of this model the pre-filters corresponds to the F7 class for fine dust filters and the main filters correspond to the E11 class for suspended-particle filters. The degree of purity of indoor air attainable by combining compact and suspended matter filters is up to three times higher than regular ventilation systems with fine dust filters. This allows the prevention of fine dust particles from agglomerating into coarser and therefore clearly visible dust particles, thus minimizing their deposition. Systems and equipment can be kept immeasurably cleaner, and cleaning intervals can be extended by up to 50 per cent. In addition, goods and technical facilities are better protected and operations can be carried out with less interruptions.
By using CamCleaners, pre-heated air circulates within the room, reducing the temperature differences in the room significantly. With air filters from Camfil, ambient air temperatures at floor level rise, and much less incoming air from outside the building has to be heated at great cost. Enormous savings in heating costs can be generated, especially during the cold season.
Unlike electrostatic filters and hybrid filters, the filter media from Camfil generally pump no harmful chemicals such as ozone or free radicals into the air. In addition, poor air quality with a high incidence of bacteria, dust, viruses, and harmful particles is an aggravating factor for health problems, from allergic reactions and headaches to asthma and respiratory tract irritation. Effectively cleaned air, on the other hand, leads to higher efficiency and fewer incidences of sickness.
The optimal position of a CamCleaner depends on whether an existing ventilation system is already in place, as well as on the average quality, with respect to temperature and degree of contamination, of the air to be purified. Most models can be mobile or fixed, suspended from ceilings or walls, or even placed standing on the ground. Particularly in rooms with high ceilings, the most efficient solution is often to combine free-standing and hanging equipment. This means each particle size can be intercepted where it is most frequently encountered and the different layers of warm air are merged better.
Special aspects of indoor climates
In addition to air purification in entire production or storage facilities, special air cleaning requirements can also be implemented with the CamCleaner models. Using the appropriate suction attachments and incoming air adaptors, the two air inlets of the CamCleaner allow a mixture of the air to be cleaned to be brought in, where necessary, from different cleaning zones and temperature ranges. The targeted discharge of the purified air also works smoothly. For example, a kind of "air veil” can divide a large room into different zones with differing qualitites of air.
Working on the over-pressure principle, spaces with especially clean air can also be created within large halls – for example, for sensitive manufacturing sections. Small, particularly contaminated production areas can also be isolated with CamCleaner solutions based on negative pressure.
Even if no dividing walls are present, nevertheless different air quality zones can be created based on a single CamCleaner air cleaning system. This is partly possible because the purified air can be transported over long distances and supplied, for example, to especially sensitive production processes.
On request, the units can be managed via the building control system, allowing air cleaning to be performed where needed or notification of required filter changes to be sent when required.
