For 46 years now the company has been contributing to safeguarding the quality for people, the environment and industry as well in the best way possible. Established in 1966 as the German subsidiary of the present-day Camfil Group, the Holstein-based company, with the high-turnover air filter market in Germany, plays a fundamental part in the leading international position of the parent group: The global player, based in Stockholm, Sweden, is characterised by its own product development and manufacturing at 25 sites and a tight-knit sales networks across all continents. The areas of use for the various coarse dust, fine dust, particle and molecular filters plus accessories include automotive manufacturers, the food and pharmaceutical industry, clinics, airport, museums, hotels, schools, offices and department stores.
The Camfil Group success story started in 1963 in Trosa in Sweden with the establishment of the company as a one-man business by Gösta Larson. The same year, the family-run company agreed on a joint venture with Cambridge Filtration Corporation in the United States. International expansion started in 1966 when a subsidiary was founded in Germany, followed by another fourteen. In addition, by 2006 Camfil had taken over ten companies in the air filter industry – which also included Farr Co. in America. After production started at the German branch in Reinfeld with just ten employees in 1970, Camfil introduced pocket filters in Germany for the first time four years later and thus initiated their long-term national success. Reference customers of Camfil KG include DaimlerChrysler, Ferrero, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, the Charité, IKEA and BASF. Today, more than 300 staff work for the company, which has since changed its legal structure to a limited partnership ("Kommanditgesellschaft").
Worldwide, the approximately 3,500 employees of the Camfil Group are currently generating a forecasted annual turnover of around 500 million.The product range extends from standard filters for air-conditioning and ventilation technology to highly specialised filter solutions for applications that react in an extremely sensitive manner to air contamination.
